Lease is up on house we are renting can we stay?

I live with my wife, 2 kids our cat, dog & five fish. our lease is up in less than 2 weeks & we still have not found a place to go (not through lack of trying but nobody wants to rent to people with pets these days). We have lived here for 9 years. The real estate called me about a month ago & asked if we want to renew the lease, I said no as the owner wants to put the rent up by another $100/week, & I am ready to go anyway as the owner is a difficult man. two weeks ago we received a notice to leave at end of lease. That was all fine & we would love nothing more than to find a place & move out by this time, however time is running out. We are almost fully packed & ready but I cant move my family out onto the streets. Can anyone advise me as to what happens if the 18th of October comes up & we are still here. I know the owner, he will spit the dummy & will not be open to negotiations. Help!
