Question for English Civil War buffs - were the Scottish Covenanters good soldiers?

They contrived to stay out of most of the fighting. As you see, Ammi can't find a single engagement they took part in. Charles I surrendered to them and they handed him over to the English to get their arrears paid. Judases!
