What pickups are good for metal?

I have a Gibson SG Standard (yes, I know I'm spoiled). Anyway, I like to play a lot of metal and I hear that there are better pickups that create a better tone for the music I play (metal). I"m kind of going for a Parkway Drive tone or PHT something like. I"m just not really getting that tone out of my humbuckers. Also it doesn't tend to pick up pinch or artifical harmonics that well so are there any pickups that can make them stand out more? But, I also don't want to be like all metal. I do kind of want to preserve a good clean tone as well. So basically a versitile pickup that is leaning more towards metal. I know that there are active and pive pickups. Which ones are better in my case? I know these are a lot of questions, but any answers are deeply appreciated. Thanks.
