I'm having problems with music in PowerPoint. Wanna Help?

Okay, I'm creating a slide show and have insterted a WAV music file and it won't play through slide transitions! I went into Custom Animation>Effect Options and have set it to stop playing after 23 slides but it still can't get past the first slide! I've tried everything and it just won't continue playing the music in the background throughout the show.
