Is history just a series of lies?

You have to study several claims made by historians to determine your own point of view on a subject. There are some that are, as you said, racist and ignorant and will write history with bias against a certain group of people. The way history is written in textbooks is how the author wants it to be, they can choose how to write historical events, what events/people to put in and which ones to exclude.
