try to look in local newspapers for cheaper dj's or talk to some of your friends so maybe you can hire someone you know to save some money. appeizers r easy.... veggie tray and cheese cracker and peporoni trays and if you make them yourself its cheaper. order the cake at any bakery and get the directions in advance... for plates and things like that try bjs or a sam's club, somewhere to buy things in bulk!! invitations can be made on a computer and you can use a pic of your mom to put on it if you have one. get your kool gag gifts to make it funny and not depressing. we did that for my grandma for her 60th and she loved them and thought they were funny... good luck, start planning. dont wait till last minute, it'll blow up in your face!!
