I think that you should forgive him and help him. He is your family and people make mistakes, sometimes huge ones. But the smart people learn from their mistakes and become better people because of them. There is a chance that the girl would hate him and never want to see him again, but it's much more likely that she would love to see him and hear what he has to say. I'm sure she cared for him deeply at one time and she still might. Your father will be the hardest one to convince.
